Unisys Wins Major Operations Contract For Ryder Europe
Europe-wide agreement sees Unisys undertake back office functions for leading transportation and supply chain solutions firm.
London, March 14, 2007 - Unisys Corporation, the worldwide technology services and solutions company, has announced a new deal with Ryder Europe, the provider of leading-edge commercial vehicle, fleet management and supply chain solutions, to provide back office support to its European operations.
Under the agreement Unisys will physically host and support Ryder's data centre in its Tier 3 data centre and provide full desktop and server ITO services from service desk to desk-side support across all of Ryder's European sites
Unisys has chosen to deploy a global sourcing model that utilises the best fit resources, regardless of location, to provide a comprehensive solution for Ryder. As Unisys now has the responsibility for Ryder's IT infrastructure on a day to day level, Ryder staff are able to concentrate on driving IT initiatives that will increase their competitive advantage and ultimately help grow their market share across Europe.
Ryder is able to benefit from Unisys 'best fit solution', drawing upon Unisys global resources to offer clients optimal solutions to operating needs.
